About Pathways for Children
Since 1967, Pathways for Children has been a
leader in early education and child care programs on local,
state and national levels. We have been able to bring together
children from all walks of life to learn the values of community,
respect, and education. Our children also learn to value themselves
and their place in the world. And, though we have built our
programs in response to needs in our Cape Ann community, our
programs have become models for other regions.
We serve nearly 400 children at four sites and
approximately twenty family child care homes. When children
come into our programs, they feel safe, and loved.
High quality child care...
Is care and early education provided by well-trained, dedicated
professionals who understand the needs of the developing child.
It is care that helps a child feel safe and excited about living
each day, that acknowledges the strength of each family, and
is able to provide help when needed.
Care that makes a difference...
We now know that quality care and education in the first years
of life impact the life course of a child. A developing brain
is nourished by love, age-appropriate play and learning, limit-setting,
nutrition, and literacy. When those elements are absent, the
consequences can be life-long and harmful. A skilled teacher
and a quality program nurture a child's strengths, and recognize
areas of concern, providing the child and the family with the
support they need.
Our Mission:
To help children discover their potential and grow into
confident and empowered adults who contribute to the well-being
of the community. Pathways fullfils its mission by providing
high quality, affordable and comprehensive care, education,
recreation and other support services for children and their
families.
