PATHWAYS UNLEASHED!

The History: In 2004 and 2006, Pathways for Children held Lobster Landings and Chairs for Children, events modeled after Boston’s Cavalcade of Cod and Chicago’s Cows on Parade. Both events were powerful in their impact and simple in their premise. While Chairs for Children provided area artists with Adirondack chairs, Lobster Landings provided artists with larger-than-life, unpainted sculptures which were transformed into unique works of art. The masterpieces were then displayed throughout the community and ultimately sold at a high-profile auction raising critical funds for Pathways’ extensive programs.

The Gala: In the spirit of these successful events, Pathways for Children returned with Pathways Unleashed, featuring a variety of lavishly designed, life-sized Dogs! These artful animals, turned into one-of-a-kind creatures by local artists, were exhibited throughout Cape Ann during the summer of 2009 and auctioned off to the highest bidders at a gala auction on September 12, 2009.

The Kids: How do the Dogs help the Children of Cape Ann? Pathways’ mission is to help children discover their potential and grow into confident and empowered adults who contribute to the well-being of the community. Pathways fulfills its mission by providing high quality, affordable and comprehensive care, education, recreation and other support services for children and their families. Pathways Unleashed! elevated awareness of Pathways for Children and raised crucial funds necessary for Pathways’ to deliver first-class programs.
