Dr. Karla Badillo-Urquiola (Dr. KB) is a Clare Boothe Luce Assistant Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Notre Dame. As an interdisciplinary Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) expert, Dr. KB investigates technology-driven solutions that empower people and protect the well-being of youth in marginalized communities. She specifically studies the online safety and wellbeing of youth with adverse life experiences and those in need of services. Her work is sponsored by major organizations, including Mozilla and Google, and has won Best Paper (top 1%), Best Paper Honorable Mention (top 5%), Best Poster, and Impact Recognition awards at top-tier international and national HCI conferences.
