Elaine Marshall – School Discipline Advocacy Program Fellow, Mental Health Advocacy Program for Kids, Health Law Advocates

Elaine Marshall is the School Discipline Advocacy Program Fellow at the Mental Health Advocacy Program for Kids at Health Law Advocates. Her fellowship focuses exclusively on the intersection of school discipline and mental health where she represents parents and guardians of students with mental health concerns in school discipline matters. Before joining the MHAP for Kids team, Elaine was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow and Research Scientist for a judicial and legal education program, educating judges and other legal professionals on the social determinants of health. She earned her JD/MPH from Northeastern University School of Law and Tufts University School of Medicine as part of their dual degree program. As part of her legal and public health training, she gained experience in legal services for health and welfare benefits, family law for parents with mental health concerns, and insurance billing policies for people experiencing first episode psychosis.
