Lucinda Garcia – PhD Student, Tufts University
Lucinda Garcia (they/she) is a PhD Student at Tufts University in the Child Studies and Human Development Department, specializing in the intersection of autism and transgender/nonbinary identities in youth. Their research centers on preparing educators and families to better support autistic students across all gender experiences. Lucinda's work focuses on building bridges between research and practice, helping parents, teachers, and school communities develop the knowledge and skills needed to collaborate in creating more inclusive learning environments. Their long-term goal is to work directly in student support roles, where they can apply research-informed approaches to foster educational systems that recognize and affirm both neurodiversity and gender diversity.
