Mary Chao – Youth & Young Adult Recovery Specialist, Justice Resource Institute

Mary Chao, LMHC, A-CRA, is a Youth & Young Adult Substance Use Treatment Specialist at Justice Resource Institute. She has 14 years of experience working with youth, young adults, and their families in residential and community-based programs. Mary is a trainer and certified supervisor of Adolescent Community Reinforcement Approach (A-CRA), an evidence-based treatment for youth substance use needs. Mary is a consultant and workforce development specialist for: the Office of Youth & Young Adult Services at the Bureau of Substance Addiction Services (BSAS); the Children’s Behavioral Health Initiative (CBHI) Assessment & Clinical Understanding (ACU) training for UMass Medical School; and instructor of advanced certificate courses at Boston College and William James College. Mary earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling at the University of Northern Colorado in 2013.
